Whitehall SLU — Copyright · Principat d'Andorra

Every imagebelongs to someone.

Whitehall is an Andorran firm with a single practice: copyright. We acquire, register and license creative work — and when it is used without permission, we enforce. Most matters end in a licence. Every matter is prepared as if it will not.

The practice

We do one thing. Whitehall acquires rights in photographs and film, registers them with the United States Copyright Office, and resolves unauthorised use — for our own portfolio and for the rights holders who instruct us.

01

Portfolio enforcement

Works we own, acquired by written assignment and registered before any demand is sent, enforced on our own account.

02

For rights holders

Photographers, agencies and catalogues instruct us to monitor and enforce their work. We report every matter and every resolution.

03

Licensing & resolution

Most matters end in a licence at a realistic market value. When they do not, we litigate.

The process

Every matter follows the same record, in the same order.

i.

Acquisition

Rights are secured in writing — by assignment or by a rights holder's instruction — with the chain of title documented at every step.

ii.

Registration

Works are registered with the United States Copyright Office before any demand is made.

iii.

Discovery

Unauthorised uses are identified wherever the work appears, and every matter is assessed individually before anyone is contacted.

iv.

Evidence

Forensic captures are taken and preserved before first contact, so the record predates the conversation.

Every file is built as if it will be examined in court — because sometimes it is.

v.

Correspondence

Demands are written and proportionate, stating the work, the use and a realistic licence value.

vi.

Resolution

Most matters close as a licence. Those that do not are pursued on a file already built.

How we operate

Proportion

Demands reflect the realistic value of a licence, not a threat premium.

Documentation

If it is not recorded, it did not happen. Every matter is built to be examined.

Confidentiality

Enquiries and resolutions are handled discreetly, on both sides of a matter.

Licence over litigation

A signed licence is a better outcome than a judgment — for everyone involved. We act accordingly.

Correspondence

Received a letter from us?

It means our records show a work from our portfolio, or from a client's, in use without a licence. It is not a scam, and it is not the start of a lawsuit — it is an invitation to resolve the matter.

Your letter carries a matter reference in the form WH-[code]-[number] — for example, WH-SPEC-00023. Quote it and we can answer precisely: which work, which use, what evidence, what options. Matters that cannot be resolved amicably are referred for formal proceedings.

Respond to a matter

Or reply directly to the address on your letter.

The firm

A small firm in a small country, acting wherever the work is used.
